Expatriate workers are very common in Kuwait’s economy. About 60% of the workforce is foreign, mostly from Asia, India, Sri Lanka and other countries in the Far East. An overwhelming majority of them are manual workers in low – income jobs. The number of foreigners in the upper section of management labor market are high, too. More than 90% of Kuwaitis work in the public sector – government jobs, with very few in the private sector.
